In<\/span> the<\/span> second<\/span> part of our \u2018Reuse and Recycle\u2019 Philosophy, <\/span>we<\/span> are<\/span> going<\/span> to<\/span> discuss<\/span> recycling<\/span>. If you missed the 1st part, read it here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are<\/span> four<\/span> main<\/span> categories<\/span> of<\/span> what<\/span> you<\/span> can<\/span> recycle<\/span>. <\/span>So<\/span> let\u2019s<\/span> discuss<\/span> them here<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Plastic:<\/strong>
\nPlastic<\/span> is<\/span> truly becoming<\/span> one<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> most<\/span> dangerous<\/span> problems<\/span> on<\/span> the<\/span> Earth<\/span>. <\/span>Plastic<\/span> bottles<\/span> decompose<\/span> for<\/span> 450 <\/span>years<\/span>! <\/span>We<\/span> use<\/span> things<\/span> made<\/span> from<\/span> plastic<\/span> every<\/span> day<\/span>, <\/span>so<\/span> it\u2019s<\/span> really<\/span> important<\/span> to<\/span> recycle<\/span> as much as<\/span> you<\/span> can<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

There<\/span> are different<\/span> types<\/span> of<\/span> plastic<\/span>, <\/span>but<\/span> the<\/span> main<\/span> are<\/span>:<\/span>
\nPET – <\/span>water<\/span> bottles and\/or<\/span> oil<\/span> bottles are made from it<\/span>.<\/span>
\nHDPE – <\/span>plastic<\/span> bags<\/span>, <\/span>dishes<\/span>, <\/span>containers<\/span> are<\/span> often<\/span> made<\/span> from<\/span> it<\/span>.<\/span>
\nPVC – <\/span>some<\/span> bottles<\/span> for<\/span> cleaning<\/span> products<\/span> are<\/span> made<\/span> from<\/span> it<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

You<\/span> can<\/span> collect<\/span> all<\/span> your<\/span> plastic<\/span> items<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> recycling<\/span> bin<\/span> or<\/span> directly<\/span> deposit<\/span> it<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> recycling<\/span> centre<\/span>. <\/span>Before<\/span> throwing<\/span> plastic<\/span> bottles<\/span> away<\/span> you<\/span> should<\/span> wash<\/span> them<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Glass:<\/strong>
\nDid<\/span> you<\/span> know<\/span> that<\/span> glass<\/span> decomposes<\/span> for<\/span> 1000 <\/span>years<\/span>? <\/span>It’s<\/span> incredible<\/span> but<\/span> true<\/span>. <\/span>Maybe<\/span> it\u2019s<\/span> better<\/span> to<\/span> reuse<\/span> glass<\/span> bottles<\/span> but<\/span> let\u2019s<\/span> see<\/span> how<\/span> can<\/span> we<\/span> recycle<\/span> them<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

We<\/span> can<\/span> divide<\/span> them<\/span> into<\/span> three<\/span> types<\/span>: <\/span>green<\/span>, <\/span>brown<\/span> and<\/span> transparent<\/span>. <\/span>It\u2019s<\/span> better<\/span> to<\/span> recycle<\/span> them<\/span> separately<\/span>. <\/span>
\nYou<\/span> can<\/span> put<\/span> glass<\/span> bottles<\/span> into<\/span> the<\/span> recycling<\/span> bins<\/span> near<\/span> your<\/span> house<\/span> or<\/span> into<\/span> the<\/span> glass-recycling<\/span> banks<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> supermarkets<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paper:<\/strong>
\nWe<\/span> live<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> 21st <\/span>century<\/span> where<\/span> books<\/span>, <\/span>mail<\/span>, <\/span>documents<\/span> and<\/span> photos<\/span> can<\/span> be<\/span> online<\/span>. <\/span>But<\/span> paper<\/span> is<\/span> still<\/span> important<\/span> in<\/span> our<\/span> lives<\/span>. <\/span>Before<\/span> throwing<\/span> a <\/span>sheet<\/span> of<\/span> paper<\/span> away<\/span> (<\/span>even<\/span> in<\/span> a <\/span>recycling<\/span> bin<\/span>) <\/span>you<\/span> should<\/span> think of ways<\/span> you<\/span> can<\/span> use<\/span> it<\/span> again<\/span>. <\/span>For<\/span> example<\/span>, <\/span>print<\/span> on<\/span> both<\/span> sides<\/span> of<\/span> paper<\/span> or<\/span> give<\/span> these<\/span> sheets<\/span> to<\/span> your<\/span> children<\/span> to<\/span> draw<\/span> on<\/span> them.<\/span><\/p>\n

You<\/span> can<\/span> collect<\/span> paper<\/span> in<\/span> your<\/span> recycling<\/span> bin<\/span> and<\/span> then<\/span> send<\/span> it<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> recycling<\/span> centre<\/span>. Of course, the best advice is to use less paper. <\/span><\/p>\n

Metal:<\/strong>
\nCans<\/span> made<\/span> from<\/span> aluminum<\/span> decompose<\/span> for<\/span> nearly<\/span> 500 <\/span>years<\/span>. <\/span>The<\/span> metal<\/span> items<\/span> are<\/span> separated<\/span> into<\/span> two<\/span> groups<\/span>: <\/span>magnetic<\/span> ones<\/span> (<\/span>steel<\/span>, <\/span>iron<\/span>) <\/span>and<\/span> non-magnetic<\/span> ones<\/span> (<\/span>aluminum<\/span>).<\/span><\/p>\n

To<\/span> recycle<\/span> these<\/span> items<\/span> you<\/span> should<\/span> wash<\/span> them<\/span> and<\/span> then<\/span> put<\/span> them<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> necessary<\/span> bin<\/span> or<\/span> take<\/span> it<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> nearest<\/span> recycling<\/span> centre<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

You<\/span> can<\/span> see<\/span> that<\/span> recycling<\/span> can<\/span> be<\/span> very<\/span> easy and as simple as<\/span> taking<\/span> an<\/span> item<\/span> and<\/span> placing<\/span> it<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> right<\/span> bin<\/span>. And as recycling <\/span>benefits<\/span> the<\/span> earth, it would<\/span> be<\/span> great<\/span> if we all do this.<\/span><\/p>\n
